I remember using Facebook to stay in touch with my family, my cousins, friends, and even people I didn’t know. I like sharing moments through photos and videos taken with my drone.
What’s more, I found my last job, which I held for eight years, on this platform, as a friend recommended me in a design group, and the very next day I was already working remotely for that company, so I also saw Facebook as a tool that could be used to find work and this is one of the things I regretted most about not being allowed back in.
I also used it a couple of times to report some footage. I remember two of the last posts I made before my account was blocked.
One of the last two times I posted something was when I was out on a boat trip and filmed a full-screen video, thanks to the unique vantage point I had out at sea, of a massive structure that looked like a city perched on a hill in my hometown, Arica. I tagged some acquaintances who might have known why that structure was there and why nobody was doing anything about it.
The second post was another in which I reported some people who had set up camp on the river in front of my parents’ house in Arica – people who had already been reported by neighbours who had filmed them on their mobiles stealing cars from the neighbourhood. So I took my drone and filmed some videos and took some photos, in which I reported these people and their squats, tagging relevant people who might be able to do something about it, so that my parents could live in peace.
Sometime around 20 August 2024, I log into my Facebook account, which at the time looked something like this, and see the following message.
We’ve suspended your account
Your Facebook account has been suspended because your Instagram account, tranhaimycoxx2vf, doesn’t comply with our rules.
Log in to your Instagram account to appeal our decision.You may have the right to challenge our decision in the courts of your country or to refer it to a certified dispute resolution body.
First of all, that ‘Instagram account’ mentioned there isn’t and never was mine; what’s more, it has a name that sounds like a virus.
I submitted the Instagram form three times and never received a reply. I tried to download my account information using that blue button.
I tried many times and it always froze. One day, with patience, I tried and tried and tried until I managed to download a file weighing ~6GB, full of folders containing all my account information.
I also asked ChatGPT to help me appeal or to try and put me in touch with someone who could help. We tried really hard; it gave me some contacts at the European Union, I got in touch with them, but they’d never come across a case like this before and left me high and dry – not even that body was able to help me.
In the meantime, I tried to create another account in my name and succeeded, but to try and trick the system into thinking I was someone else, I changed my birthday to 12 March or something like that; later I regretted it because lots of people started wishing me a happy birthday on 12 March, which isn’t my actual birthday.
A few days later, Facebook started asking me to verify my identity via KYC with a facial scan. As soon as I sent it, the system recognised my face, and they blocked my new account. In other words, I realised that Facebook has literally banned me as a person, not just as a user.
I honestly came to the conclusion that this is a company where there isn’t a single real person behind Facebook’s support team. It was impossible to reach anyone who could help me and look into my specific case, and if there is someone out there reading this article, I’d ask them to get in touch with me to sort out my problem – that would be brilliant.
Codex, can you help me replicate my Facebook page?
So I had the idea of asking Codex to recreate my Facebook page with all the information I had up until the day it was blocked. We set up a test server, as we always do, and once everything was working properly, we published it to the final address.
What I find most lovely about this is that, thanks to Codex, I can now have a record of my life from 2007 to 2024 – 17 years of my life in pictures, memories, comments, and so on…

Facebook me bloqueó, así que reconstruí mi perfil con IA
Recuerdo que usaba Facebook para mantenerme conectado con mi familia, con mis primos, amigos y con gente que ni siquiera conocía también. Me gusta compartir momentos a través de fotos y videos con mi dron.
Además el último trabajo que tuve por 8 años lo encontré en esta plataforma, ya que un amigo me recomendó en un grupo de Diseño, y al siguiente día ya estaba trabajando para esta empresa de forma remota, entonces también veía a Facebook como una herramienta que se podía utilizar para encontrar trabajo y esta es una de las cosas que más lamentaba al no tener permitido acceder de nuevo.
Un par de veces lo utilicé también para denunciar unas tomas. Recuerdo 2 de las últimas publicaciones que hice antes de que me bloquearan la cuenta.
Una de esas dos últimas veces que publiqué algo, fue cuando andaba en un paseo en bote y saqué un video a pantalla completa, por el ángulo privilegiado en el que me encontraba mar adentro, de una toma gigantesca que parecía ciudad arriba de un cerro en mi ciudad natal, Arica. Etiqueté a conocidos que quizás podrías saber porqué estaba esa toma ahí y nadie hacía nada al respecto.
La segunda publicación fue otra en la cual denuncié a unas personas que se ponían a vivir en el río al frente de la casa de mis padres en Arica, personas que ya estaban denunciadas por los vecinos que habían sido grabados con celulares, robando los autos del vecindario. Asi que tomé mi dron e hice unos videos y fotos, donde denuncie a estas personas y sus tomas, etiquetando a personas relevantes que pudieran hacer algo al respecto, y así mis padres pudieran vivir más tranquilos.
Por ahí por el 20 de Agosto de 2024 accedo a mi cuenta de Facebook, que en ese entonces se veía algo más o menos así y veo el siguiente mensaje.

Es posible que tengas derecho a impugnar nuestra decisión ante los tribunales de tu país o a remitirla a un organismo de resolución de litigios certificado.
Primero que todo, esa “cuenta de Instagram” que sale ahí no es y nunca fue mía, ademas tiene un nombre que parece un Virus.
Envié el formulario de Instagram 3 veces y nunca recibí ninguna respuesta. Traté de descargar la información de mi cuenta con ese botón azul.
Intenté muchas veces y siempre se quedaba pegado. Un día con paciencia, intenté, intenté e intenté hasta que logré descargar un archivo que pesaba ~6GB lleno de carpetas con toda la información de mi cuenta.
Además le pedí a ChatGPT que me ayudara a apelar o que me tratara de contactar con alguien que me pudiera ayudar. Estuvimos intentando mucho, me dio contactos de la Unión Europea, los contacte, pero ellos no veían ese tipo de caso y ,me dejaron de brazos cruzados, y ni siquiera ese órgano me supo ayudar.
En el intertanto traté de crear otra cuenta con mi nombre y lo hice, pero para tratar de burlar al sistema y que pensara que era otra persona me cambié la fecha de cumpleaños a 12 de Marzo o algo así, después me arrepentí porque mucha gente me empezó a decir feliz cumpleaños el 12 de marzo que no es mi fecha real.
A los días después pasó que Facebook me empezó que pedir que me autenticara tipo KYC con escaneo de cara. Una vez que la mandé, de inmediato el sistema reconoció mi cara, me bloquearon ahora la nueva cuenta. Es decir me di cuenta que Facebook me tiene literalmente baneado a mi como persona, no como usuario.
Yo sinceramente llegué a la conclusión que esta es una empresa donde no hay ninguna persona real detrás del soporte de Facebook. Fue imposible llegar a alguien que me pudiera ayudar y que viera mi caso en particular, y en el caso que si hubiera y estuviera leyendo este artículo le pido que se contacte conmigo para solucionar mi problema, eso sería hermoso.
Codex me ayudas a replicar mi página de Facebook?
Asi que se me ocurrió pedirle a Codex que me recreara mi página de Facebook con toda la información que tenía hasta el día que me la bloquearon. Levantamos un servidor de prueba como siempre lo hacemos y cuando estuvo todo funcionando ok, lo publicamos a la dirección final.
Lo que encuentro más lindo de esto es la posibilidad de gracias a Codex poder tener un registro de vida desde el 2007 hasta el 2024, 17 años de mi vida en imágenes, memorias, comentarios, etc…
